Roles and Responsibilities

• Dispatching: Coordinate and assign trucks and drivers to various routes, ensuring that freight is picked up and delivered on time.
• Communication: Stay in constant contact with drivers to provide route updates, instructions, and support throughout their trips.
• Route Optimization: Plan and optimize delivery routes to maximize efficiency, taking into account traffic, road conditions, and delivery deadlines.
• Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any issues that arise during transport, such as delays, vehicle breakdowns, or route changes.
• Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of dispatch activities, including logs of driver hours, vehicle maintenance, and delivery information.
• Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers to provide updates on shipment status and handle any inquiries or special requests.

Education and Qualifications

• Experience: Previous experience as a truck dispatcher, especially in the logistics or transportation industry, is preferred.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in using dispatch software and GPS systems.
• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional training or certification in logistics or transportation management is a plus.
